Laurent Soffiati is a comedian, director, singer and writer. Originally from Carcassonne, he studied drama in Aix-en-Provence, then at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre from 1997 to 2000. He subsequently studied singing at the Conservatoire de Paris Centre. For the past twenty years, he has performed at theatres such as the Molière, Tchékhov, Marivaux, etc. He has also appeared on television and in films under the direction of Alain Guiraudie (Cannes Film Festival 2013) and Michel Hazanavicius (Cannes Film Festival 2017).
Laurent Soffiati connects theatre and music, collaborating with numerous choirs, choruses and orchestras on French chanson. He also works on organ and harp programmes, and stages contemporary operas. He participates in lectures and broadcasts about music, and he also promotes the art of oratory and public speaking – in art schools, on courses and training sessions, in schools and also in prisons.
Laurent Soffiati is the founder and artistic director of the Storie di Passi Festival in Ferrara, the Festival Ideal in Bram, and the Compagnie Idéal Cinéma.
