Carlos Pereira is a horseman in the classical Portuguese tradition. Former equerry of the Chantilly Horse Museum (1994), he was also director of the CAVALGADOR Equestrian Agency (2002-2019). He holds the French professional qualification BPJEPS (Brevet Professionnel de la Jeunesse, de l’Education Populaire et du Sport). He als graduated in economics from the University Paris Dauphine, with a thesis on horse breeding in France.
Carlos Pereira is a man of many versatile talents. His doctorate, from the Sorbonne University, took for its subject the Birth and Renaissance of Portuguese Equitation from the 15th to the 18th century. He is also a consultant and trainer for major equestrian institutions, a lecturer at the Sorbonne, a professor of classical equitation, a producer and director of equestrian shows, as well as President of the Institute of Portuguese Horses and Riding. He is the director of the international Equinology programme at the Sorbonne.
